Puple lighting over Fort Worth.

You’ve heard about purple rain, here’s purple lightning during a thunderstorm above the West 7th Street bridge.

This brief moment is a combination of sheet lightning diffused by the clouds and falling rain blending with the bridge’s embedded bright illumination in the foreground and downtown city lights in the background.

When I started this exposure, it was a several seconds shot of the bridge at night during the rain. When the lightning lit up the sky, I was hoping the finished product would show a brighter sky.

Then came the preview and there it was, Fort Worth in purple. For TCU Horned Frog fans and fans of purple everywhere, you’re welcome.
